Virginia Annual Conference Summary
Virginia Annual Conference Summary (Submitted by our Lay Representatives) The Virginia Conference collected a total of 42,743 total kits (111 bedding kits; 4,533 birthing kits; 180 cleaning kits; 23,672 health kits; 1,965 layette kits; 11,835 school kits and 547 sewing kits). Of those totals, Crewe UMC sent 50 school kits and 1 health kit! This year’s Annual Conference donations exceeded last year’s by over $1,500! ‘Cans 4 Conference’ resulted in 8,500 lb. of food. Donations from the ‘Imagine No Malaria’ campaign resulted in a total of 91,000 lives being saved. Of this total, Crewe UMC contributed $739.10 which included proceeds from our lemonade stand at the Crewe Homecoming and individual donations. One of our previous members, Jacob Paysour, was elected to the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference. Among those recognized were 45 Retirees, 31 licensed local pastors, 24 elders ordained, 1 deacon ordained, 21 commissioned as provisional members, 1 recognition of associate member, 4 recognition of orders. There were 3 youth from the Farmville District Children’s Retreat helping- it was great to see them!
